AIM-Division-Academica-High-Schooler

During the four years of High School, students continue developing Authentic Products and Services following the APS' project development process with a more in-depth exploration of the three pillars of education to support their preparation for college. The purpose is to provide each student with experiences in the four APS Academies. During these learning modules, areas of interest for college can be discovered. Valle Oriente Campus high school students begin 9th grade at their campus and then move to APS Campus for grades 10-12.

Average class size: 25 students per group.

In 9th and 10th grade, students at AIM will be taught a broad curriculum centred around each of the four Academy areas. In this stage, Collaborative APS Projects are developed for a more in-depth study of each subject in preparation for formal assessments.

From 10th grade, senior Secondary School students will begin preparing for college via the Career Life Education course. Designed to complement students' interests, students will have the opportunity to choose regular, Honors or AP level courses on various subjects. AIM careers counselling faculty have a wealth of experience in this field and offer guidance and advice regarding the application process.

In the 11th grade, students form trans-disciplinary teams with their peers to specialise in different areas. They work on a yearly APS project of their choice under the guidance of their Teacher Advisors and Academy Specialists, who seek to sharpen students' professional skills. Using the experience gained at this grade level, students will then design their 12th grade APS Capstone Project which will reflect all they have learned in their education at AIM Huasteca.

Elective courses offered at AIM Huasteca are varied and include preparation for the SAT, certification of French and German, world politics and student government. A position on the yearbook committee is also available as an elective course. In addition to the other courses mentioned, it provides students with valuable leadership, teamwork, time management and communication skills.
